Educator Paulo
Freire maintains, “What you learn depends on those with whom you
learn.” This sums up education at Cornerstone Christian College.
Cornerstone is an institution that embodies and embraces diversity
– diversity in language, culture, race, age, gender, opinion,
denominational affiliation, nationality etc - and it is through
dialogue within this diverse community that learning takes place.
Our classes are small and our lecturers are intellectuals and
experts in their fields.
Cornerstone
Christian College embraces the importance of academics but at the
same time actively seeks to integrate knowledge and understanding
with the practical realities of everyday life and of the Christian
Faith.
Three words define the Cornerstone Christian College experience:
community, learning and transformation. Therefore being a
community of learning means that students and staff at Cornerstone
are engaged in a process of transformation. This transformation
has both an inward focus on personal development as well as the
development of knowledge, skills and faith; and an outward
expression in the way we attempt to make differences in the lives
of others through the work of reconciliation, righteousness,
justice and mercy.
Our purpose is serious. Our process is fun.
