FINANCIAL AID POLICY
The College does not receive any financial assistance from government - all bursaries
and scholarships are raised by the College.
1.
The primary task of the Bursary Office is to allocate
financial assistance from available resources to students who, without such assistance,
would be unable to attend the College.
2.
Students may be assisted by a bursary allocation in
the form of a Campus Employment position, where the student’s account can be credited
with a maximum of 40 hours of work per month.
3.
Bursaries are allocated in November for the following
year.
4.
The responsibility for financing studies rests with
the student.
5.
Financial Aid does not cover all tuition fees.
6.
Allocations are made on the basis of: seniority; church
support and academic progress.
7.
All students receiving Financial Aid are expected to
donate time in service to the College.
8.
A means test will be used to assess the neediness of
the student
9.
New applications need to be made annually so as to
reflect changes in financial; marital or academic status.
10.
Failure to disclose information that may influence the awarding of a bursary could
result in cancellation of bursary funds awarded.
11.
Monies awarded will be credited to the student’s account bi-annually at the start
of the second and fourth terms.
12.
Students taking less than 80% of the full module load will not be considered for
Financial Aid.
13.
Financial Aid will only be awarded for the minimum length of the programme. Module
failures as well as additional modules taken will not be covered by Financial Aid.
