South African’s Applying to Cornerstone

 

All students go to step 1, 2 and 3. If you need financial aid go to step 4. If you need residence go to step 5.

STEP 1
What are your dreams and aspirations? Where do you see yourself in the future? What are your gifts and skills? Will the programme of your choice equip you for your future?

Choose the programme you want to apply for:
1.                   Bachelor of Theology (BTh) in Community Leadership
2.
                   Certificate in Christian Ministry
3.
                   Certificate in Community Counselling
4.
                   Certificate in Community Development

STEP 2
How much time do you have available? What finances do you foresee you will have available for your studies? Do you want to do full-time or part-time studies? Do you want to start with part-time studies and then do full-time studies later?

Full-time:  

·         BTh – 3 or 4 years; GAP – 1 year

·         five days a week, 08h30 to 13h30

Part-time:

·         depends on the amount of modules you take per year

·         BTh – up to 9 years

·         one to four days a week, 08h30 to 13h30

·         Certificates - 2½ to 5 years

·         Mondays and/or Thursdays, 18h00 to 21h00

Choose whether you want full or part-time studies, in the day or in the evenings.

STEP 3
Carefully read the form “YOUR APPLICATION FOR ADMISSIONS” in the application package noting particularly section 5 “Supporting documents.”
Complete the application form and ensure you have all supporting documents.

STEP 4
Do you have the finances to study? Can your family/friends/church assist you financially? Do you have someone to stand surety for you so that you can apply for a study loan from the bank? Do you have a part-time job that can help you with finances?

See Bursary Criteria and Financial Aid Policy to determine whether you are eligible to apply for financial aid from Cornerstone.  Only a minimum amount of bursaries are available to very needy students.
Complete the Financial Aid form and include with application form.

STEP 5
Do you live outside of or far from Cape Town? If so, do you need residence accommodation?

Residence accommodation on campus is available for 20 students, 2 per room.
Complete the Residence Application form and include with application form.

STEP 6
Send the application form with supporting documents to:
