My name is
James Sabuni, I chose Cornerstone because it offers
Community Development which suit well with the environment
I am coming from. My desire as a community development
Student is to encourage less privilege communities to use
the local resources they have to uplift the standard of
living. Throughout my 4th years at Cornerstone
I was challenged by the fact that poverty starts in
people’s mind. This challenged me to think even more how
to use the knowledge I acquired to bring changes to my
community.
As I end my
4 year journey at Cornerstone Christian College, I am
looking forward to return to my home country Tanzania
where I will work with World Vision or Care International.
My area of interest is to empower the underprivileged
communities by running workshops on how to overcome
poverty by using local resources they have. Tanzania is
among the poorest countries in the world, however, we have
many resources such as Tanzanite, Gold, Copper, land and
so on, but because many people they don’t have knowledge
on how to use these resources, they are still living in
poverty. As a community development who acquired high and
practical knowledge from one of the best College in South
Africa if not in Africa (Cornerstone Christian College), I
have all the reasons to make a difference in my community.
